Törmäsin mahtavaan makeutusaineeseen, joka maistuu ihan oikealta sokerilta, mutta sen pitäisi olla terveellisempää ja jopa paremman makuista. Jotkut ovat jopa laihtuneet sen avulla. Näin ihmiset ylistävät sitä nettiarvosteluissa. Kaikki lainaukset ovat eri arvosteluista. Olen korvannut hehkutetun aineen nimen merkkijonolla [XXX].

Nyt sinua varmaan kiinnostaa, mikä tämä ihmeruoka on. Kyseessä on juurikassokeri (beet sugar), sama valkoinen kidesokeri, jota myydään nimellä “sokeri” jokaisessa suomalaisessa ruokakaupassa.
Yhdysvalloissa myytävä sokeri on pääasiassa valmistettu sokeriruo’osta, joten heille sokerijuurikkaasta tehty sokeri on eksoottisempaa, kalliimpaa ja vaikeammin löydettävissä. Molemmat ovat kuitenkin sakkaroosia, disakkaridia jossa on yhdessä yksi glukoosi- ja yksi fruktoosimolekyyli.
Kannattaa muistaa tämä kun shoppailet eksoottisia superruokia. Niiden seassa on ehdottoman terveellisiäkin ruokia, mutta jotkut superhedelmät ja -marjat ovat superia lähinnä herkullisella maullaan. Monissa superruoissa on luonnostaan runsaasti sokeria, eivätkä luonnollisetkaan sokerit ole suurissa määrissä harmittomia.
Ei kannata mennä eksoottisuuden himoissaan samaan lankaan kuin nämä jenkit, jotka ostavat sokeria terveelliseksi sokerinkorvikkeeksi.
